YouTube may not necessarily be something you watch every day.  But if statistics are to be believed, that pretty much makes you the odd man out.  According to recent news from YouTube, the viewing time on the popular video streaming site has gone up 50% from last year.

YouTube’s viewers have now hit 1 billion every month.  That means, every month, 15% of the world’s population signs on, for entertainment, education, or whatever else you may find on the site.  And average viewing time, which was at 4 billion last year, is now at 6 billion hours per month.

What does this mean to you?  Well, aside from the fact that it means there’s someone out there who probably spends all day watching YouTube videos, it means that these short videos on YouTube are an important part of global life, and using video yourself is generally a good idea.
